Microneedling is a medical procedure. Traditional microneedling is good for slower and more subtle skin rejuvenation. RF Microneedling produces results are faster, more dramatic and long-lasting compared to microneedling. Both procedures are appropriate for all skin types and skin tones, as RF microneedling is “color-blind” — by delivering heat below the skin’s superficial surface, the pigment is protected making this procedure safer with darker skin types, something not possible with CO2 laser resurfacing. RF microneedling is recommended for enhancing the overall tone and texture of the skin as it better facilitates the production of collagen and elastin. RF microneedling is a good choice for:
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an optional add-on treatment when receiving microneedling or RF microneedling. The combination of RF Microneedling with PRP treatment is superior to microneedling alone or microneedling with serums.
Platelet-rich plasma consists of two elements: plasma, or the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body. Platelets are well-known for their clotting abilities, but they also contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal. To create platelet-rich plasma, we take a blood sample from the patient and place it into a device called a centrifuge that rapidly spins the sample, separating out the other components of the blood from the platelets and concentrating them within the plasma.
The addition of PRP to RF microneedling can:
RF Microneedling is a great treatment option for:
We offer both microneedling with a pen device as well as RF microneedling technology with an FDA approved machine.
Overall the process does not hurt. We offer topical numbing cream prior to the procedure to reduce any discomfort.
A complimentary LED light therapy treatment is provided to patients post-procedure to reduce redness. Most patients experience minimal downtime, and fully recover completely within seven days following a microneedling with radiofrequency treatment. Redness, shedding, and dryness are common during healing and resolve within a few days. Post-treatment serum is provided to speed the healing process.
The number of treatments needed depends on the area being treated and the amount of skin repair desired. Most skin responds best to three treatments at a minimum of 6 week intervals.
